To date, we’ve seen a lot of pop-ups around town. Pop-up shops, pop-up poetry readings, pop-up dinners… these days, it’s all about the pop-up. Now, one of the biggest pop-ups imaginable is about to make a tour through the region. It’s Buffalo’s first inflatable pub, and it’s going to be setting up in public spaces throughout the summer. All that the traveling pub requires is beer, visitors, and a heck of a lot of air!
Once filled, customers can walk inside the spacious ‘old world Irish style’ pub and enjoy frosty cold beers. Apparently this style of pop-up pub idea has already made quite a name for itself in cities such as Boston, Nashville and Kansas City. Now Buffalo has one of its own called Johnny Mac’s, and it “aint no bounce house”. The inflatable pub is scheduled to make its first regional appearance this Friday night on Grand Island*. It’s first city appearance will be on Sunday, August 14th at Buffalo River Fest Park – 249 Ohio Street.
*Opening of Johnny Mac’s inflatable pub from 6pm – 10pm at the Town Commons, located next to town hall at 2255 Baseline Rd, Grand Island, NY. Live music by Gimmie Buffet, beer, wine and a full menu off the grill. Brought to you by Try-It Distributing and Basil Ford.
