Wellness Walk: Buffalo

Walking is the cheapest and easiest way of exercising. If you can’t make it to the gym, don’t play tennis, aren’t able to swim… then you can always rely on your legs for a good walk. It is said that walking 30 minutes each day is essential, if you’re not exercising.

Now the Wellness Institute is making it even easier to get outside and walk, through its Wellness Walk program. Walking in a group can be pretty motivating. Plus, Buffalo is filled with tons of safe, walkable neighborhoods. Walking is healthy, efficient, and green. Walking can help you sleep better and can reduce stress levels.

Starting June 1, and ending on August 31, at noon each and every Wednesday, the Wellness Center hosts a free Wellness Walk-Buffalo. The walks are open to everyone, and start at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute’s Kaminski Park.

For more information on the benefits of walking, and a look at some of the walks, check out this great Full Circle Studio video below. Then just show up at the park on Wednesdays at noon, and get ready to walk along with scores of other people who have come to rely on this group exercise to keep them happy and healthy.
