‘125’ is alive!

For those who are into the darker side of life, 125 Art Collective Tattoo is now open (see back story). Husband Ted Hawkins and wife Psyko Kupkake were extremely pleased at the turnout Saturday evening, as a couple hundred people attended the shop’s grand opening celebration.

To walk through the business, is to walk through a collection of oddities and eccentricities that range from arsenic and cyanide salt and pepper shakers to socks featuring disco dancing Sasquatches (aka socksquatches). The celebration was not only a hit due to the number of people (many eccentric in their own rights), but the amount of sales that the couple was ringing up. People were purchasing macabre works of art in the back gallery, and they were snapping up monster pillows in the front retail shop.

In the central spine of the gallery/storefront, a DJ was spinning tunes inside one of the tattoo studios. The entire place was alive with LA-esque characters who were in attendance to support one of their own (tattoo artist Ted Hawkins), and one of Buffalo’s own (roller derby queen Psyko Kupkake). Together, the couple is making a ghastly impact on the dark side of Allentown.
