You know that you’re doing something right when your entire outdoor event series for the summer sells out before it even begins.
Each year The Mansion on Delaware hosts an outdoor soirée that features delectable food and drinks, live music, in an idyllic setting. Seeing that there are no available spots available for the Wednesday evening lawn series (held once a month), I feel that there is a lesson to be learned here. By keeping the ticket prices low, mixing up the live music month to month, featuring two different timed seatings (one at 5:30pm and one at 7:15pm), and providing food and drink service in a manicured setting, The Mansion has managed to maintain a very desirable event series. Obviously there is some caché being associated with the hotelier, and that makes me excited about the prospect of seeing something similar on the grounds of the Richardson-Olmsted Complex when Hotel Henry urban resort is open for business.
By taking the romanticized setting of The Mansion’s Cocktails on the Lawn Summer Series, and transposing it onto the grounds of the Richardson-Olmsted Complex, there is potential for one of the most enthralling outdoor cocktails settings in the country. The grounds of the complex, with the backdrop of the Medina sandstone walls and the iconic towers, would allow for this sold out series to flourish in a way that we can only imagine at this point. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the resort’s capabilities and range of offerings.
If The Mansion is able to piqué the imagination of the city at its current location, can you imagine what it will be able to do once unleashed upon its new highly anticipated and wildly enchanting home?
